Prior to that, my cousin had already booked two hotel rooms at a place called Home Inn.
we left Shenzhen at around 9 and reach at around noon. Upon reaching, we took the subway to our hotel to put our luggages.
we then had lunch at some roadside store, eating wantan mee and charsiew(pork) rice:D and undoubtedly, it was much much cheaper than shenzhen AND HK. u know, the good thing about the hotel is that, immediately when u walk out of the hotel, there are shops everywhere, selling goods, like shirts, shoes, food, belts, jackets, bedsheets. u name it. and above all, they're cheap! real cheap. all in all, my family bought 4 pairs of shoes there. haha. it seems as though every time we go to china, my brother and i would buy at least 2pairs of shoes. last year it was a pair of Van's and Levi's shoe. this time around, it was a pair of nike and leather shoes.
Anyway, after that, we decided to go do some sight-seeing, u know, that's what a holiday is for right? so yeah. we took the subway, to this places called the "Chen" ancestral hall. "Chen" as in my surname's "Chen". so yeah. it's like suposedly the first's "Chen"s residing place. But it's in Guangzhou, meaning it's more of the cantonese ppl's ancestor. not mine. as im hokkien.

Outside the ancestral hall.

The front gate.
The "TAN"ssss
haha.
so then after that we took the subway again, and made our way by foot to this temple called "liurong shi". There wasn't much there. just ur typical temple. and u know, in china, u PAY to et into a temple. not much, but this temple's entrance fee was about 10yuan(RM5).
This is the pagoda.yeah and so after walking around the temple for awhile, we took a cab which brought us to Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. for those who don't know, Dr. Sun Yat Sen was the father od Democrasy in China. He was the one responsible for overthrowing the Dinasty(s). The Qing Dinasty to be exact. He ended the reign of the emperors and freed the chinese from the emperor's rule. During his time, his political party(kuomintang) made a fragile alliance with the communist party to rule China. everything was going smoothly, until he passed away. A power struggle between his successor/protege(Chiang Kai-Shek) and the communist party split kuomintang, thus the start of the civil war. Both sides claim to be the true heir to Dr. Sun Yat Sen's lagacy. and thus after that, Chiang Kai-shek set up his own government and founded Taiwan. Now u know the true story behind the ever-ongoing rift between China and Taiwan. u see. Taiwan claims to be "the TRUE china" while the communists in China were nvr ever gonna acknowledge Taiwan because to them, Taiwan's land belongs to China and the chinese government did not grant independance to Taiwan.

Dr. Sun Yat Sen- Bapa Kemerdekaan/ Father of Nation
Anyhow, back to the trip, This is the memorial hall. It's actually something like an opera house now. u know, something liek our Dewan Budaya.
The exterior
The interior
Outside the memorial hall stands a tall statue of Dr. Sun Yat Sen.
There. the statue. and the memorial hall behind.and that was the day! at night, we went to a streeet called beijing street to walkwalk. it's just a street, with shops by the sides selling stuffs. shops as in shop lots, not the stalls u see in petaling street. well it wasn't that cheap that so we just ate dinner there and went back to the hotel to rest.
a new day-11th december 2008
started off with some shopping, seeing hat it's the last day that we will be in Guangzhou. so yeah. these are the shops around the hotel.

As we had already checked out, we had to carry our luggages everywhere we went.

and after a long long walk, we finally reached the 5goat statue-.-
snapped some pictures...
and then left for the train/bus station to go back to Shenzhen:)
Ahh.. like i said, Guangzhou is like, the lower class's SHOPPING PARADISE. the higher classs is of course HK la.
so this place is like, situated next to the bus stop. it sells EVERYTHING. the mall is so big u can get lost in it! there are SIX floors altogether. thing is. this is also the place their fellow traders come to stock up. they buy in BULK and u could see everyone with huge packs of goods, be it clothes, shoes or accesories.
